Three new Buster Models Presented at Boat Show
Fiskars proudly presents the first Buster Pro Series boat
Fiskars, Europe’s largest aluminium boat manufacturer, is presenting three new boats for the 2010 season at the Helsinki International Boat Show. Besides the first Pro Series boat, Buster Magnum Pro, the show will feature the new and improved Buster XXL, and an entirely new version of the popular favourite Buster L.
“Buster’s product development is busier than ever, and we will be seeing even more innovations than usual in 2010. “As market leader, we must further enhance our innovative capacity and continually improve our range in response to customer feedback,” says Markku Uotinen, who is responsible for marketing and product development at Buster.
The new models will be on display at the Helsinki International Boat Show from 13 February. With the new Buster L having been unveiled at the Boat-Afloat Show in the autumn 2009, the Magnum Pro and the revised XXL are now too ready for their public début.
Buster L: the Popular Favourite
The boat that has caught the eye of the general public is the second-generation version of the most popular motorboat in Finland and the Nordic countries. Despite higher capacity, the new Buster L has nearly the same dimensions as its predecessor it is just 14 cm longer and only 24 kg heavier. Even though the beam is only 1 cm wider than in the previous model, the interior is a full 15 cm wider thanks to the new design.
The boat can easily be transported on a lightweight, brakeless trailer towed by a normal car. The Buster L still runs with an engine rating of 30 – 50 hp, and can carry six adults or a load of 465 kg, which is quite respectable for a vessel of this size.
The Professional Standard Magnum Pro for Demanding Users
The all-new model for this season is the first Pro Series boat by Fiskars, the Buster Magnum Pro. This is a professional standard vessel with a central steering console and fully aluminium construction.
“The Buster Pro series is designed for users who prize performance over comfort. The Magnum Pro is not a vessel to decorate your pier, but a sturdy tool for the long boating season,” Markku Uotinen explains.
At seven meters long and 2.4 meters wide, the Magnum Pro is the largest boat in the range. This long boat looks sleek and speedy, even though its sides are almost 90 cm high. Sturdy railings and a standard targa arc that can be installed in the steering console or the back of the boat increase safety.
The Magnum Pro is designed with the helmsman in mind. Developed from the acclaimed hull of the Magnum, the base has a 20-degree V angle. Thanks to its excellent balance and successful design, the Magnum Pro handles steadily and smoothly even in heavy conditions.
The vast accessible power range is testament to a successful hull design. At its highest engine power the Magnum Pro can achieve a top speed of nearly 50 knots, but the 150 horsepower motor is sufficient for a full load.
Besides other popular accessory packages, you can choose options such as the factory installed NAVI Pro package, which includes the Raymarine C120W display unit and 4 kW digital radar antenna.
XXL gets New Consoles
The Boat Show will feature an updated version of the third-generation Buster XXL unveiled in autumn 2007. The most prominent new external feature of the Buster XXL is its revamped consoles in a new, lighter colour. The hull, praised for its excellent handling, has largely remained unchanged.
“We went back to Buster’s roots, in the sense that there is more visible aluminium again. The XXL is still a youthful speedboat, but it looks and feels increasingly like the Magnum, the biggest boat in the range ,” says Jari Peltola, who heads up the XXL design team.
In response to user demand, there is now room to install a fixed plotter on the driver console. The console material has also been changed to lightweight, impact and UV-resistant polyethylene.
The large rear platforms have remained the same, providing ample room for boarding the boat, maintenance work, fishing and swimming. The aft structures are made of aluminium, and can endure tough conditions without fear of dents. The storage space for steps in the fore of the boat is also made of aluminium.
In addition to rope and fuel tank loading fittings, there is room for all of the wiring needed when installing accessories under the afterdecks. Mounting bases for trim surfaces, the zinc tab, and echo sounder sensor have been welded on, so there is no need to drill holes in the stern.
The hood accessory is now in two parts, allowing two passengers to steer from under the rain hood with only the front part in place. The factory-installed accessory packages include the previously released Navi, Canvas, Comfort, and Harbour packages. There is also an all-new Entertainment package including a factory-installed radio and loudspeakers.
