The Fiskars Boats Drive range expands with a stylish and compact console boat
24 May 2011
The new Drive models bring the features of the Fiskars Boats range to the most popular open boat class on the market. The Drive Open 46 of spring 2011 is a sleek and sporty cruiser with two consoles. It is driven from the rear seat.
“The new Drive Open 46 is a stylish and compact multi-purpose boat suitable for the whole family,” summarises Anders Kurtén, manager of product development and marketing at Fiskars Boats.
The Drive Open 46 is at its best on short distances, as well as in summer house boating, recreational fishing, and water sports. The boat is driven from the rear seat, which sports sufficient room for the driver and two passengers. More seating space is available on the seats in front of the consoles, which contain plenty of storage space. Its bigger brother, the Drive Open 50, is half a metre longer and provides separate seats for the driver and navigator.
The all-new hull of the Drive Open 46 is made of durable and low-maintenance aluminium. Thanks to the rigid and light hull, the boat is easy to pull ashore, and a wash is all it requires in terms of annual maintenance. The top-notch drivability and quality are guaranteed by Fiskars’ five decades of experience in manufacturing aluminium boats.
To ensure a comfortable ride, the Drive Open has been designed to be extremely silent. The first-rate sound dampening has been achieved by means of a rigid structure, urethane foam injected inside the hull, dampening pads, and dampening carpets below the deck.
As the front section of the Drive Open opens up into a T-shape, you can easily to walk all the way to the bow when attaching the boat and coming ashore. The boat has sturdy stainless steel railings and anti-slip step plates at the rear on both sides of the motor well. The ergonomic console has room for an inset plotter and the cabin is sheltered from both sides with high windscreens edged with sturdy railings.
To facilitate practical boating, the Drive Open is equipped with a factory-installed single-key system. The standard equipment includes a swimming ladder and platform, navigation lights, an automatic bilge pump, and a fire extinguisher. The range of available accessories includes the Navi package, which features a Silva compass and a Garmin plotter, as well as the Comfort package containing carpets and seat cushions.
The Drive boats are equipped with Mercury engines, and Brunswick Marine will be responsible for distributing the products throughout the Nordic Countries.
