New Fiskars Drive Boats Presented at Boat Show
4 January 2011
New aluminium hulled Drive boats from Fiskars will be presented for the first time this spring at the Gothenburg, Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki boat shows. Three ranges of the sports-car-inspired Drive Boats series will be presented for boating season 2011: Drive 50, Drive 56, and Drive 66.
The smallest Drive boat is the new model for 2011: a modern, five-metre, double console Drive Open 50. The Drive 56 models that were introduced last summer and are now to be presented for the first time at the Boat Show are 5.6-metre cruisers: the centre console boat Drive Sport Console 56 and the walk-through windscreen boat Drive Convertible 56.
The completely new Drive 66 range of larger boats includes the 6.6-metre trip boats Drive Daycruiser 66 and the Drive Hardtop 66.
The new range was designed by the famous Swedish racing and performance boat designers Ocke and Ted Mannerfelt in co-operation with Fiskars Boats. They strove to create an inspiring cruiser with excellent manoeuvrability that challenges traditional thinking without compromising safety.
Drive Open 50
Drive Open incorporates the characteristics of the Fiskars premium range to the most popular range in the market. The five-metre Drive Open is a sleek and sporty cruiser with two consoles.
The boat's aluminium hull has undergone numerous model tests to ensure safe and consistent driving features. The driver and side consoles have robust separate seats. More seating space is available on the backseat and between the consoles on the seats, which hide plenty of storage space.
The front of Drive Open has a T-shaped open space that makes it easy to walk all the way to the bow when attaching the boat and coming ashore. The boat has sturdy railings and wide footsteps at the back area on both sides of the motor well. The ergonomic console has room for an inset plotter and the cabin is sheltered from both sides with high windscreens edged with sturdy railings.
The recommended engine power for Drive Open 50 is from 50 to 75 hp. The boats are equipped with Mercury engines and Brunswick Marine will be responsible for distributing the products throughout the Nordic Countries.
Drive Daycruiser 66
Drive Daycruiser 66 is a sporty and spacious premium class cruiser for day trips and other recreational activities. The U-shaped sofa in the open space together with the driver and side seats create a cosy space to spend time in.
Drive Daycruiser is a full size aluminium hull boat ideal for taking trips. The hull is very rigid, low maintenance and extremely quiet at all speeds.
Daycruiser has a walk-through control cabin. The bow has high railings and the control cabin is accessed through a sturdy staircase and a middle window that opens. The staircase that slides inside the left console opens access to the forecabin with beds for two. Two windows provide light to the forecabin. The windows are located under a windscreen that protects them from rain and splashes even while open.
The standard equipment in Drive is exceptionally versatile. For example, hydraulic steering, seat cushions, and a canopy are automatically included in the equipment.
Drive Daycruiser 66 is 6.6 metres long and its recommended engine power is 135 to 200 hp. The boats are equipped with Mercury engines and Brunswick Marine will be responsible for distributing the products throughout the Nordic Countries.
Drive Hardtop 66
Drive Hardtop 66 is an aluminium hulled boat suitable for family use, cruising, and travelling. As a modern follower of the classic hardtop boat, it offers versatile space even for longer overnight trips. The spacious and well-lit forecabin is a safe place to spend time, including while driving.
The steering point of Drive Hardtop is on the outside but the cover provides excellent protection against wind and water. The cabin is a walk-through model, the windscreen opens from the centre, and the foredeck has high and sturdy railings made of stainless steel.
The aluminium hull, which is exceptional for this size of boat, is rigid, durable, and easy to take care of. Particular care has been taken to dampen the noise from the hull so that the boat is quiet at all speeds.
The standard equipment in Drive Hardtop is exceptionally versatile. For example, hydraulic steering, seat cushions, and a canopy are automatically included in the equipment. Better equipment for trips is available through factory-installed accessories such as a cooker installed onto the left side console and a cuddy behind the driver.
Drive 66 Hardtop is 6.6 metres long and its recommended engine power is 135 to 200 hp. The boats are equipped with Mercury engines and Brunswick Marine will be responsible for distributing the products throughout the Nordic Countries.
